A Lib Dem Council would empower residents to have a real say over issues that matter. In the meantime we speak up for people who all too often feel let down. Gateshead charges the highest levels of Council Tax for band D properties of any metropolitan borough in the country but residents feel that it is out of touch and unresponsive. That has to change!

Soon after Jonathan Aibi called for the Council to improve Gateshead High Street, the Council launched a consultation asking for residents’ views on how to improve the High Street.
